Trip to Hawaii - A Short Story

Thursday, March 17, 2016

Marisa decided to go on vacation to beautiful, exotic Hawaii for a week. One night after dancing the hula in a swaying grass skirt and a few 'make me feel good' drinks, Marisa headed back to her room alone.

Riding the elevator up to the thirteenth floor, Marisa gets off and walks down the hallway to her room, a little tired and ready for a good night's sleep, she fiddles with the stupid keycard trying to get the green light so she can open her door but can't seem to get the damn thing to work. In frustration, tears begin to form in her eyes but Marisa is determined not to cry over a damn keycard! Why won't this thing work? After all you just place the keycard in the slot with the arrow pointing up, the green light is suppose to blink and then you push the door handle down and voila the door opens! But this damn keycard isn't working!

The tears are beginning to slide down Marisa's cheeks but she IS NOT GOING TO CRY. Swaying a little on her feet, she slides down the door to sit on the floor and figure this whole stupid situation out. Why is she crying? Why did they ever stop using normal keys where you just place the key in the lock, turn it and the door opens?

Not hearing the gentleman coming down the hall and Marisa being tired with tears flowing, puts her head against the door, closes her eyes and instantly falls asleep. When the mystery man reaches his hotel room door, he looks down at Marisa and smiles, wondering what this stranger is doing at his hotel room door.

To Be Continued Tomorrow...

Have an awesome day,

Sue
