In my many jewelry papers, I found some "show off" information regarding earrings that I thought you would enjoy reading, at least I hope you enjoy it. Here it is:
For thousands of years, earrings have a long history of being an adornment, heritage identification, and a show of wealth. They have taken an important role in fashion with styles and popularity changing with economic conditions and trendsetting styles.
Earrings are important for every outfit and every jewelry collection. A casual weekend ensemble looks better with a pair of hoops, classic drops or chandelier style earrings. Earrings make are a great gift for any woman whether as an anniversary, birthday, a thank you or an I love you gift.
When selecting a pair of earrings, try picturing the person wearing them. Heavy earrings can make the ear stretch, making it droop; bolder styles can be overpowering to someone with a shorter hairstyle; and stud earrings can be hidden from view by someone with a long hairstyle.
Types of Earrings:
Stud earrings: a single gem set in a mounting that fits close to the ear lobe.
Chandelier earrings: usually has a cascading tiers
Hoop earrings: circular or half-circular
Ear Thread earrings: chain that slides through the ear hole and dangles
Dangle/drop earrings: usually flow from the bottoms of the earlobes by an ear wire of choice
Clip-on earrings: the two parts of the clip close around the ear lobe
Be creative and try to compliment the wearer's personality when choosing a pair of earrings. They are a great way to accent any outfit, give as an outstanding gift and to show off your personality.
